Interrailing in Europe summer 2010:LONDON part1

In the evening of 4th of June, was really exciting for us. Our backpacks were packed and we were ready for our adventure to start! The next morning we headed towards the Helsinki-Vantaa airport and our trip began. Our flight was 40 minutes late and we arrived to London around 14.00, the local time. We got our backpacks in no time and then we made our way to by some tourist tickes for underground or "tube" as they call it. We were concerned about if the cashier wouldn't understand what we wanted but everything went smoothly. We had searched online that it's cheaper the take the tube and find our hostel on our own instead of taking a taxi. And it was a great way to see the city and get used to going around with tube. The next 45 minutes we heard numerous times: "mind the gap between the train and the platform"..

We got of the Blue line at King's Cross station and started looking for our Journey's Hostel. After a while we found it and made it to the reception which was closed and we were exhausted and starving! Only a couple of minutes waiting two guys came in and first we didn't even realize that they were staff! :D First one of them named Wilson (he lived in London and worked there but he was from Portugal and his english was perfect!) started making fun of my name. :D He showed us to our bedroom with 6 beds in it, then he told us where we can find someplace to eat. After we got back from eating and little bit exploring the neighbourhood and of course tasting some beer at a local pub, we went to our room and I sat on some bed which I thought was empty.. Saija started talking with this guy in the room and when Saija introduced me to him the guy answered: "nice to meet you Ira, by the way you are sitting on my bed.." So after being a bit embarreshed we went to talk with Wilson and it turned out that we were in the wrong room (which wasn't our fault!).. We ended up staying in a room with 12 beds. Saija slept on the top bed, beneath him was some model guy and I slept under his bed. :D This was the only hostel that we booked on the whole trip. We stayed at Journey's hostel for 4 nights. :)

Aftersettling down with the room situation we decided not to waste any sightseeing time in London. We left for Tower Bridge which was really really awesome to see for the first time. We took a lot of pictures of us wandering around London (as we did also on the rest of the trip)..

Back at the hostel we started hanging out with other travellers in the kitchen and drinking a bit also. We started talking with two italian guys who were from Milan (well, at least to one of them who spoke english..). We were asked by Wilson to come to this party and we asked the italian guys to join us (a group from the hostel was going the this club) but it turned out that only we were at the V.I.P list?! We wondered how on earth we ended up on some VIP list?! The bar or the whole trip to the bar was grazy! There was this alarm at the metro tunnel so we took the awesome black cabs. The bar was in a really scary and weird neighbourhood and the boys really had to look after us. The bar was full of people smoking pot, doing drugs and one guy took some pills and drank red bull for the whole night?! And the music was some teckno music, guess how fun we had with Saija? We wanted to leave from there pretty soon, thank god that Wilson guy agreed to leave with us 'cause we had absolutely no idea were we where. We made it back to our hostel and went straight to bed and we were already made plans for he next day! :)

our snacks: rye bread, strawberries, shot glasses, beer, white and red wine, water, orange juice and milk..
Operation repair the shoes with clue. (wasn't the only time we needed that clue..!) :D
