Interrailing in Europe summer 2010 TORINO

Breakfast looking to Lyon
On the next morning (Monday 14th) I woke up at 8am and noticed that my morning person friend Saija was already awake.. She had woken up way before me. She had already taken a shower, eaten and packed.. So I tried to be fast so we could walk to the train station and catch a train to our next city. On our way to the train station there was this big market along the river and I almost lost my nerves with Saija 'cause it took around two hours before we got passed it... I bought a watch and Saija bought some pieces of jewellery. :) We didn't get train tickets until 14.40 to Bourg St Maurice and we were told to get of at Chambery to change a train to Torino. We had spare time before our train was supposed to leave so we started looking for a internet cafe to find a hostel from Torino. We ended up choosing this one hostel but it said that its doors would close at 10pm and our train arrives at the Torino train station at 9pm.. And we have do no idea where the hostel and the train station are located.

Our stop at Chambery took around two hours. Chambery is located in southeastern France. The view from the train window was really mountainy and beautiful. From the window we could see small houses and villages aloung the mountains. :) We didn't get that much to see at Chambery we only saw were it was situated. We went there to eat something and it ended up being quite difficult since the waitress didn't speak a word in english and the menu was in french.. Back on the train to Torino Saija tried to contact our new friends (Stefano and Lucas) from Milano which we met at the hostel in London.

So our train was on time when we arrived to Torino. It took as a while before we even got out from the underground tunnels. We had exactly an hour to find our way to Hostel TO which reseption closes at 10pm. We were supposed to find a bus number 10 which would go directly to our hostel. Well we never found it. No one (surprise surprise) spoke english and we asked from several people to help us. And the people who spoke english they didn't know. Time was going past fast. Finally we found a tram number 10 but it would have came too late. So I figured: Let's grab a taxi! At first we didn't find a taxi stand and when we did there were no taxis, not one! We had 20 minutes left. By this point we were sure that we would be spending the night on some bench or at some Mc'Donalds.. :D A taxi came, the driver didn't speak english.. We were supposed to go to Via Modane 17 he took us to Via Modane 70! We had less than 10 minutes left. We made it and even got beds, even got our own room with 4 beds. :D

The view from our little balcony in Hostel TO..

The next morning we were planning to have a quick look at the city and then in the afternoon head to Milan! :)
